Established in May 2005 and officially registered on June 26, 2005, Oman Formaldehyde Chemical Company LLC (OFCC) has been a cornerstone of the chemical industry in Oman. The company began its commercial production in April 2008 and is the sole manufacturer of Urea Formaldehyde Concentrate (UFC-85) and Aqueous Formaldehyde (AF-37) in the country.

OFCC is a 50:50 joint venture between the prestigious OMZEST Group of the Sultanate of Oman and Morenteco Ltd., Cyprus. Located in the Sohar Industrial Port (SIP) Area, the company benefits from the region’s robust infrastructure, which includes utilities and port facilities. This strategic location also allows OFCC to source its major raw materials, Methanol and Urea, directly from within the SIP area, enhancing efficiency and supply chain management.

Manufacturing Excellence and Global Reach

OFCC operates two state-of-the-art production units, utilizing advanced technologies from Haldor Topsoe AS of Denmark and Johnson Matthey Formox, Sweden. With a combined capacity of 239 Metric Tons Per Day (MTPD) for Urea Formaldehyde Concentrate and/or 388 MTPD for Aqueous Formaldehyde, OFCC ensures a steady supply to meet domestic and international demands.

The company has captured 100% of the market share in Oman and exports its products to key markets such as the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bangladesh, Nigeria, and Sri Lanka. This global reach underscores OFCC’s commitment to delivering high-quality chemical solutions.
