Oman participates in 9th annual meeting of Arab Under-Secretaries of Finance Ministries

Oman, represented by the Ministry of Finance, participated in the 9th Annual Meeting of Arab Finance Ministry Representatives held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The meeting was organized by the Arab Monetary Fund.

 

The meeting addressed several topics related to the financial policy risks amid declining growth rates and increasing financing costs. Discussions also focused on the green economy and the transition to clean and renewable energy, as well as government measures related to sustainability.

 

The interaction between fiscal and monetary policies and their impact on economic performance were discussed, along with the role of fiscal policy in integrating the informal economy. Additionally, emerging tax challenges arising from digitization were also addressed.

 

The meeting included a review of countries’ experiences in enhancing social security networks, expanding financial scope amidst ongoing international developments, and improving government spending efficiency.

 

The delegation from Oman, led by Abdullah bin Salim Al Harthy, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, chaired the meeting.

 

This meeting is part of the preparations for the 15th Ordinary Session of the Arab Finance Ministers Council scheduled to be held in May.
