MSX Chairman’s Dialogue to feature noted educationalist

Muscat Stock Exchange (MSX) is organising the inaugural edition of the ‘MSX Chairman’s Dialogue’ on Thursday, March 21, 2024, at the MSX Investors Hall.

 

The Dialogue marks the beginning of a series where distinguished personalities from finance, academia, investment and corporate leadership will be hosted. These luminaries will share their experience and learnings, helping broaden the knowledge horizon of attending guests. MSX Chairman’s Dialogue also endeavours to build a bridge between global and Omani stalwarts from their respective fields.

 

Mohammed Mahfoodh al Ardhi, Chairman, MSX will host Dr Bradley J Cook President of the American University of Bahrain, the first comprehensive American-model co-educational university in the Kingdom of Bahrain during the inaugural session. The topic of the discourse is ‘The Future of Higher Education in the Middle East’ and it will shed light on the theme, ‘Current State of Higher Education, Key Trends Shaping the Future of Higher Education, Global Dynamics and Shifting Economies, Evolving Educational Paradigms and Vision for the Future’.

 

Dr Cook is a noted educationist with nearly 30 years of executive administrative experience in higher education having served as President of the Abu Dhabi Women’s College in the UAE, Vice President for Academic Affairs at Utah Valley University, and Vice President of University Relations also at Utah Valley University. Under his leadership, AUBH became the first US accredited university in Bahrain and among only a handful in the GCC and MENA region.

 

Dr Cook grew up in Saudi Arabia and has lived in Egypt, Kuwait, the UAE, and Bahrain. He holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree from Stanford University. As a Rotary Ambassadorial Fellow, he received a doctoral degree in Middle East Studies from the University of Oxford in Great Britain.
